The Open Call is international (see INTERNATIONAL APPLY). The entry fee is £20 for max 3 artworks. Maximum framed size is 100x100 cm. Please read terms and conditions prior to entering. All applications must be send to Midnight 17th of October 2024. Submissions not meeting the criteria will be rejected. Sumbission does not guarantee selection for the exhibition and entry fee is non refundable. All work must be the Original work and not a Fine Art Reproduction, Giclee Prints, or Photographs. KEY DATES: Online submissions close: 17 October 2024 (Midnight). Announcement of work chosen for the exhibition: 21 October 2024. Art Delivery: on Saturday 2 November (10:00AM - 4:00PM) and Monday 4 November 2024, 9:00AM-2:30PM to ART GALLERY & STUDIO by Aga Kubish, 4 Walliscote Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1UG. Private View Evening on Saturday 9 November 2024 (6:00PM to 8:00PM). Exhibition open to the public: 13 November - 11 January 2025. Collection of unsold artworks: Saturday 11 January 2025 (3:00-4:30) and Monday 13 January 2025 (9:30AM to 2:30PM). PRICING: Work selected for exhibition will be expected to be for sale. 40% Commission is charged by the gallery. It will be assumed that the sale price includes the cost of any frame and our commission. Please allow for these points when pricing your work. Prices should include VAT if applicable. If you are VAT registered, please provide a VAT number in the e-mail. FRAMING and DISPLAY: We have strict rules in place regarding the quality of framing and will turn away work that does not adhere to these following standards. We will not accept IKEA frames, or frames with plastic instead of glass. Frames must be free from bits under glass, blemishes, dinks or marks. Framing fixtures must be D-rings and cord, strap hangers, or Mirror plates. The gallery curators can change these fittings so they are fit for purpose and you may not get the original fittings back. If artworks are still not ready to hang, we will charge £5 per artwork for our time getting it ready. You are responsible for all arrangements and costs pertaining to the stretching and/or framing of your work but we are happy to advise where possible. We accept antique and second-hand frames, but they have to adhere to the framing conditions stated within this clause, with no evidence of any previous artworks that may have been displayed within previously. Each artwork must be delivered with removable label at the front and one attached at the back. INTERNATIONAL APPLY: The sender bears the costs and risks of the artwork's shipping to the gallery. The organiser will not pay the customs duties on your artwork: in this case, the artwork will be sent back to the sender. Recommendations: 1. DO NOT writing name of the exhibition. 2. Use the sentence: 'NO COMMERCIAL VALUE - for EDUCATIONAL use'. 3. The organiser will charge the sender for shipping back the artwork. The preferred shipping is with the Royal Mail. SELECTION: The Selection Committee will select the works for the exhibition. The Selectors will consider all correctly completed submissions. The decision of the Selectors on all matters is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Selectors are: Gail Reid - painter based in Bristol, exhibited at The Mall Galleries in London, selected for open calls by both the Royal Portrait Society and the Society Of Wildlife Artists and was a semi-finalist of Portrait Artist Of The Year 2023. Aga Kubish ARE - artist printmaker, associative member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, exhibited at the Mall Galleries, Bankside Gallery in London, Victoria Art Gallery in Bath and RWA in Bristol. INSURANCE: Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the exhibition, storage, or transit. DELIVERY: Artists are responsible for the delivery and collection of their work at the Gallery. All packaging materials must be removed after delivery (no gallery storage is available for this) and brought back at collection. If you are applying from overseas, please consider how you will get your work to and from the exhibition at the required times. IMPORTANT: Work not collected at the stated times will be subject to a daily charge of £10 and will be disposed of after one week.
