Originally from North Norfolk I have lived in Weston super Mare since 1976 and have been drawing and painting my whole life.
Last August I lost my studio at the Old Town Quarry when it was unexpectedly closed but carried on producing work in a shared studio.
My many years of working in a drawing office gave me a love of  precision.
From cave drawings to the scribbles of small children humans have enjoyed the immediacy of the translation from the eye to the hand which is given by drawing. This is why I love it.
My drawings are produced from my own photographs and sketches as I try to portray the beauty and that I see in our natural world.

Having lived on the Mendip Hills for nearly 30 years, I   love to capture the atmosphere of the local Mendip landscape in monochromatic drawings using charcoal or graphite. More recently I have been exploring printmaking techniques, in particular monotypes, as a medium through which I can achieve the changing moods and wonderful contrasts of light and dark.
I enjoy entering my work into open submission exhibitions and, amongst others, have most recently had work selected for the Bath Society of Artists 118th Open Exhibition and the Royal Bath & West Show Open where I was awarded second prize for my charcoal drawing ‘In the Pig Pen’.

“I would describe myself as a direct painter who likes to respond to a subject in an immediate and expressive manner with the aim of revealing a certain passion or evoking a certain mood.”

Although l am mostly  known for producing  intensely realistic watercolour stillife  paintings I am sometimes inspired to try and capture  the ever changing sea and sky colours that I see from my studio window in the seaside town of Watchet .

I have been lucky enough to call Glastonbury in Somerset my home for the last twenty years.
My inspiration comes easily from the huge variety in the landscape here.  Land, trees and coastline particularly.
I am always looking at and taking note of the shapes, changing colours, shadows, and tones of the landscape while I am out.
Working in my studio these studies can become more dramatic while playing with composition and using saturated colours.

am a self taught mosaic artist from Somerset and I have been running my business, Bluebell Treasures, since 2020.
All my life I have had a passion to create. For me, creativity is a fundamental aspect of who I am.
I love to experiment with a mixed media and collage and I find that mosaic making is like creating a 3D collage.
My main passions in life are colour and creativity. I love to create work that spreads energetic colour and joy into people's homes.
I am inspired to make colourful mosaics, that are full of pattern, shape and texture. My love of rainbows is often evident in my work and I enjoy blending colours and making colours and patterns pop.
I hope that my art fills those who view it with a warm glow and a sense of cheerfulness.

Tin Stanton is an acclaimed artist, art tutor and Master of Arts from the UK. Variety of mediums and topics is a major factor in his work, from his fun realism works, to his powerful climate based collection, many of which have been displayed in prestigious national and international galleries.

Tin is passionate about the environment and the way in which social behaviour affects our surroundings, with a focus on the abandonment and decay of both natural and man-made structures. His landscapes, usually devoid of people, suggest a world beyond the limits of human life, either through their remoteness, or from an age beyond human habitation of the planet.

Lauren Clark is a local contemporary fine artist based in Weston-super-Mare. Her work draws inspiration from the town’s unique character and landscape. While her foundation is in drawing, she integrates various mediums, including digital media, photography, and painting. Lauren's art delves into the impact of technological advancements on traditional techniques, reflecting her growing interest in merging the virtual with the tangible. Her recent pieces emphasize society’s dependence on digital devices, using illusion and the juxtaposition of digital aesthetics with painting to tackle this theme. This added dimension invites viewers to engage with her art through their devices. Notably, these works are painted in negative, reminiscent of analogue photography, further challenging viewers' perceptions. Her paintings, grounded in everyday experiences of place and time, reveal how digital filters manipulate our perspectives and personal experiences.
